The Baba Ron Foundation is a Tanzanian-registered charity working to help Maasai children around the region of Arusha and Moshi afford school fees to nearby schools, and to support Naalaraami Maasai school, which was established by our founder, Mr. Ron. The charity is now run by his granddaughter, Sarah Kimbele.

Empowering Maasai children through education
In many Maasai communities, children grow up surrounded by rich cultural traditions and a deep connection to the land. But for many families who rely on herding and small-scale farming, school fees are often out of reach, leaving children without access to the education they deserve.
At the Ron and Family Foundation, we believe that every child should have the chance to learn, grow, and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Our mission
The Baba Ron Foundation was created to support Maasai children who dream of going to school but lack the financial means to do so. Our goal is simple: to provide school fees and essential learning materials so that these children can continue their education, starting with four students in the Arusha region.
As we grow, we hope to expand our reach to support more children across northern Tanzania, helping them gain skills that will open doors to future opportunities.
Why education matters
Education, especially learning English, can transform a child’s future. It gives them the tools to communicate, to find work beyond subsistence agriculture, and to become leaders who can uplift their communities. By helping these children attend school, you’re not just changing individual lives, you’re investing in the future of an entire generation.
Without an education in Tanzania, children will not learn English or Swahili, which limits the sectors they can work in. English and Swahili are both necessary for tourism, politics, education, medicine, law and many other careers. The only thing that keeps these children out of school is money.
